Big Mahi and Kingfish 9-18-14

mahi, kingfish fort lauderdale fishing

More happy customers yesterday. Why wouldn’t they be. They went home with sore arms from catching a bunch of big mahi and kingfish. With fall just a few days away, the days are shorter, temperatures are slightly cooler, and the fishing is picking up. Our anglers went home yesterday with 4 nice kingfish and 10 good sized mahi. That is a good day of fishing.

Fishing Charter Makes Summer Memories

Bonito, Kingfish

We had another good morning of fishing offshore of Fort Lauderdale today. Two young anglers and there father decided to joined us for a half day charter before they head back to school next week. We headed out to around 800 feet of water and almost immediately started hooking up to bonito and kingfish. The action was non stop for the entire charter with all of our anglers getting an opportunity to land several nice fish. We ended the trip with six bonito, five kingfish, and three happy anglers. I don’t think these kids will be forgetting this summer vacation for a long time! Make some ever lasting memories with your family. We are a family friendly charter and welcome anglers of every age and experience.

Sizzling Summer Fishing 2014

Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish…What More Can You Ask For?

Sailfish Takes Off 7-31-14

Summer fishing has been sizzling hot this week. Three of the most popular fish swimming our offshore waters, sailfish, wahoo, and tuna, have been tearing up our baits. We do not usually catch a lot of sailfish this time of year, but we have managed to catch two nice ones in the last three days. Wednesday we were surprised to catch a sail, then Friday we caught another! Check out the videos to see some of the action.

Sailfish Surfaces 7-31-14

A nice sailfish would be enough to make any fishing charter memorable, but Fridays trip also included bonito, kingfish, tuna, and a big wahoo! Now that is a fishing trip!

Big fish and happy customers. This is why I love fishing Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale Charter Fishing 6-22-14

SharpnoseShark6-20-14

We had another good fishing charter on Friday. The mahi bite wasn’t as strong as it was earlier in the week, but we still ended the day with happy customers. One of the reasons I love fishing Fort Lauderdale’s offshore waters is you never know what you are going to catch. Friday was no exception. Our anglers were already having a good day, catching a bunch of bonito and a couple of kingfish, when we hooked into an Atlantic sharpnose shark. These arn’t big sharks, they average around 3 feet, but they are fun to catch. They also prefer to swim in shallow water so it is an unusual catch for a deep sea fishing charter. It goes to show that you never know what you will catch.

Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report 10/11/13

mahi10-17-13
Fall is the best time for Fort Lauderdale fishing charters and this past week shows why. Since last Friday anglers fishing with me aboard the Reel Work out of Fort Lauderdale have caught bonito, mackerel, jack crevelle, tuna, kingfish, wahoo, shark and some beautiful mahi.

This weeks report starts last Wednesday. The day started as usual stopping for bait before heading offshore to troll. We had caught a bunch of mahi a few days before so I headed out to the same area in hopes of a repeat performance. The mahi had moved on but the kingfish had moved in to take there place. After everybody was worn out from trying to keep up with the hard fighting kingfish we stopped at a ship wreck and dropped half a kingfish to the bottom hoping fora shark. We weren’t disappointed. It did not take long before a big sandbar shark found our bait and the battle was on. Our angler did a great job getting the shark to the boat where we too a few pictures and released it unharmed.

Yesterday was another good day fishing. This time the kingfish had moved out of the area but the bonito, mackerel and blackfin tuna had moved in. We also caught a nice jack crevelle and a nice mahi.

The fall of 2013 is shaping up to be some of the best fishing we have had in a while. Fill in the form on the right side of this page or give us a call to set up your Fort Lauderdale fishing charter.

Fort Lauderdale Mahi Fishing

Fall Mahi Invade Offshore

As I have been saying over the last couple of weeks, early fall fishing has some days that are OK and some days that are very good. Monday morning was one of those very good days!

mahi-mahi / kingfish

We had a group of guys go on a Fort Lauderdale fishing charter with us Monday morning. We stopped and caught some bait before heading offshore to troll. When we we got to the fishing grounds and set out the first couple of lines we knew we were in for a good day. The mahi were there and they were hungry! Hardly any of our baits lasted more then a few minutes in the water before being devoured by one of these beautiful and tasty fish. Not to be outdone, the kingfish decided to join the party. Our anglers did a great job of fighting and landing there fish and my mate did a fantastic job keeping up with all of the action.

Kingfish, Tuna And Happy Customers

kingfish-tuna

We had a pair of father and sons go on a Fort Lauderdale fishing charter with us Sunday morning.  The weather was good and everybody had a great time catching kingfish and blackfin tuna.

We started the day as usual catching bait before heading offshore to do some trolling. The big schools of bonito that we have been seeing offshore have been hard to find lately so I headed out towards deeper water looking for bait pods and color breaks. We managed to catch a couple of speedy kingfish before I spotted a color break and turned to troll along it. That is where the bigger fish were hanging out. Our anglers had a great time taking turns catching several good sized blackfin tuna and a couple of large king mackerel. Time was running short so we headed back to the dock with four kingfish, three tuna and some happy customers.

Join me aboard the Reel Work for a great day of offshore fishing. Fill in the form on the left side of this page or give us a call to set up your Fort Lauderdale fishing charter.

Great Spring Fishing Continues

Ft Lauderdale Offshore Fishing Is Good

Springtime fishing continues to be good offshore of Fort Lauderdale. Anglers fishing with me aboard the Reel Work have been catching sailfish, kingfish and blackfin tuna. During the few times the surface bite has slowed down we have have had good luck bottom fishing.

On April 5th the weather was kind of rough making it difficult to spot bait fish pods. Our anglers and crew hung in there and were rewarded with a big king mackerel. Later in the afternoon we set up on some wrecks and other bottom structure and had a great afternoon of bottom fishing. Last Tuesday we had a fun day. Our anglers caught several kingfish and a nice blackfin tuna in between the 6 sailfish bites we had. Anglers and crew did a great job managing to land 4 out of the 6 sailfish.

The South Florida weather is starting to heat up and so is the fishing. Book your Fort Lauderdale fishing charter today and get in on the action. Click on the Contact link above, fill in the form on the left side of this page or give us a call at 1-877-524-9377 to set up your charter.

Spring Into Great Offshore Fishing

It is spring break in Fort Lauderdale and the schools of fish are as thick as the college kids on the beach. Anglers fishing with me this week aboard the Reel Work out of Fort Lauderdale were treated to blackfin tuna, kingfish, sailfish and even bluefish. On Thursday our anglers caught a bunch of blackfin tuna. These are a fun fish to catch and are good eating. They also landed a nice king mackerel and 1 out of the 3 sailfish we hooked. We also got into a big school of bluefish. Although bluefish are prevalent in most of Florida’s waters, we don’t usually catch them off of Fort Lauderdale.
Fishing is excellent right now and will get even better as the weather continues to get warmer. Book your deep sea fishing charter with us today to get in on the action!
