Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report 11/8/13
Anglers fishing with me aboard the Reel Work out of Fort Lauderdale had a fun afternoon catching bonito and kingfish on Friday. The three guys who chartered us wanted to fish offshore so we stopped and caught some bait before heading to the trolling grounds. A weak cold front had pushed through Thursday so the winds were up and the water was choppy making it hard to spot fish so we sent our baits down on planers and trolled over structure. It is good to be on a 45 ft boat like the Reel Work when the seas get rough. Hatteras boats are designed for such conditions and the Reel Work always gives our customers a smooth, safe ride. The wind broke up the weed lines that have been holding mahi lately but the bonito kept our anglers busy all afternoon as did a couple of nice kingfish.
Fall and early winter are one of the best times to fish Fort Lauderdale’s offshore waters. The cold fronts that blow through this time of year bring sailfish and other big game fish into the area. Our charters fill up fast so book early to get the day you want. We are also available for corporate fishing trips of up to 6 anglers. Fill in the form on the right side of this page or give us a call to set up your Fort Lauderdale fishing charter.
