Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report 10/11/13

Fall is the best time for Fort Lauderdale fishing charters and this past week shows why. Since last Friday anglers fishing with me aboard the Reel Work out of Fort Lauderdale have caught bonito, mackerel, jack crevelle, tuna, kingfish, wahoo, shark and some beautiful mahi.

This weeks report starts last Wednesday. The day started as usual stopping for bait before heading offshore to troll. We had caught a bunch of mahi a few days before so I headed out to the same area in hopes of a repeat performance. The mahi had moved on but the kingfish had moved in to take there place. After everybody was worn out from trying to keep up with the hard fighting kingfish we stopped at a ship wreck and dropped half a kingfish to the bottom hoping fora shark. We weren’t disappointed. It did not take long before a big sandbar shark found our bait and the battle was on. Our angler did a great job getting the shark to the boat where we too a few pictures and released it unharmed.

Yesterday was another good day fishing. This time the kingfish had moved out of the area but the bonito, mackerel and blackfin tuna had moved in. We also caught a nice jack crevelle and a nice mahi.

The fall of 2013 is shaping up to be some of the best fishing we have had in a while. Fill in the form on the right side of this page or give us a call to set up your Fort Lauderdale fishing charter.
