Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters 6/29/13

July is almost here and our summer time fishing pattern has set in. The kingfish and bonito bite has been good lately with some mahi and a few sharks being caught also. We usually begin our trips by catching some bait then heading offshore to do some trolling. For the last few weeks the the bonito have been keeping our anglers busy. Bonito are a fun fish to catch. They are fast and they fight hard. They can be good to eat if you cut out the blood line and soak them in salted water overnight to get the blood out of the meat. There have been a good number of kingfish around lately. King mackerel are one of the fastest, hardest fighting fish in the ocean and are a lot of fun to catch. The mahi bite usually slows down some this time of year but if I spot a weed line or some floating debris we can usually put a few of these beautiful and tasty game fish in the cooler. Bottom fishing has consisted of catching a few sharks lately. We can usually catch snapper, baracuda and amberjack off the bottom during the summer.Fishing should stay pretty steady through August.
